Danish brand Solwang Design released its first collection in August 2009 and several have followed since.
The knitted designs are their own, based on grandma's beautiful homemade kitchen textiles. The founder's grandmother turned leftover cotton yarns into functional dishcloths. Some are more beautiful than others, depending on the colours of yarn she had.
Today, the tea towels and towels are produced on knitting machines, but the final finishing touches are still handmade.
Both still look exactly like the hand-knitted originals and have retained all their good qualities such as durability, absorbency and high functionality.
Washing instructions
Cotton is easy to maintain. Washing can be done incrementally (first at 30°, then 40° and finally it can be washed at 60°), can just be put in the dryer and ironing can be done to make the product softer and more beautiful. Beware of whiteners when the fabric is not 100% white.
